Where do you get your pizza?  A local mom-and-pop pizzeria or one of the big pizza chains? A lot depends on where you are, or how willing you are to make your own.

Everyone likes to go out for pizza, or bring it home, or have it delivered, and most of America gets at least some of its pizza from one of the national pizza chains.

We’ve discovered in our travels that many people LOVE pizza from Pizza Hut, Domino’s Pizza, Little Caesar’s or one of the other chain pizza restaurants, and we’re not going to argue with that.

Here’s the list for 2018:

  1. Domino’s Pizza (overtakes Pizza Hut for the first time)
  2. Pizza Hut (not the first pizza chain, but was the biggest)
  3. Papa John’s (has been trading the #3 and #4 spot with Little Caesars for a long time)
  4. Little Caesar’s
  5. Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza
  6. California Pizza Kitchen
  7. Sbarro
  8. Marco’s Pizza
  9. Chuck E. Cheese – not really a pizza place as much as an amusement park, but still on the list.
  10. Cici’s

In this section, while we will refer to our experiences with some of these places, we’ll keep our opinions (mostly) to ourselves and let you do the talking!  What we’ll present is the story behind each of the major chains; how they started, how they grew, what makes them successful, and how they make their pizza.

And in the comments, please tell us what you think of the pizza conglomerates that produce so much American Pie.
